Ok, something here doesn't make sense. You build a car like that and then drag home some 80 year old junk axle and steering to put under it?

Late 70's or early 80's BMW 3 series or 2002 model steering.

Your on a rat rod site and make a statement like that. Yes, I want a straight axle with a transverse type spring. I hate the Mus II susp, got a guy coming in an hour to look at all the mus crap. I'll put disc brakes on the front and manual steering. Also, when it's all done, I'll enjoy it.

I done some research and I think I'll go with a manual gm box and cross steer. I want to mount my MC on the firewall. I'll see what things look like when I get my axle under it and some other stuff done.

It was set up for the 15x18.50 you see in the 1 pic. I've decided to run a 15x10 wheel and a 12in or so section width tire. I'd like to find 1 in a 30in diameter. The big one's had a 6 or so back spacing and were a pain to get on and off, plus I just didn't care for the pro street look.

Maybe parts are different in your area but there were no paved roads to speak of back then and many/most of those old vehicles were also driven on 2 track trails so those old steering boxes tend to be worn out junk and afaik, no new parts are available to rebuild them. Also the 3 piece ball bearings are crap and very expensive to replace. I love driving solid axle pickups and rods, that wasn't my point.
