Well, it's been a long time since an update, but we've been hard at work and progress is picking up! I'll be back soon with pictures and a full progress report!

Okay, so to bring everyone up to speed on the project Ill start with summer 2016. This is the aforementioned son writing this by the way. Anyway, I was certain that I was going to finish the truck by the end of the summer, which obviously did not happen, however we got a ton done. The cab was super duper crusty, and we ended up replacing the floors, kick panels, rockers, inner/outer cab corners, and lower door supports. So much for low buck lol. Rust repair was a serious drag, but here are a few pictures of the progress:

Trying to figure out the pictures on this thing, having some trouble, so apologies if it doesn't work right

We went through and POR-15'd as much as we could behind the kick panels, so we don't have to do this stuff ever again (Hopefully). Rust repair took forever, and was tedious, but the doors fit afterwards and I have a solid cab now, with some extra bracing beneath it so I am happy.

Moving to Summer 2016. Summer was when my truck was gonna be done for sure. There was no doubt in my mind I was gonna finish the thing, and now I owe some people money for betting on myself lol. We did get a ton of work done however, The cab was mounted first, and that took forever to actually do. At the beginning of this project, when I worked alone I was directionless, and afraid to do big things myself so progress moved slowly. I'm starting to move out of that thankfully, and I am no longer afraid of fabrication. I think we finished mounting the cab sometime during June. I used mount designs from the internet somewhere (I think the guys name was Jeff51 or something) and they work great, but look like crap because I cut and welded the steel rather than bent it like I should have. I don't have pictures for those things right now, but will be coming soon. I need to do some picture organization (as well as some organization in the shop)

Thanks guys, its fun to document the build! hope I can get the pictures to work easier.

PS: Let me know if I'm not making sense, that's been know to happen lol

Dug up a picture of how we moved the rear wheels back, Cut right in front of the spring hanger, and flipped it around. This pic is before we finish welded all of it

Its been awhile since I've posted. Here are some pictures of frame modifications I had to make. Moved the shock mounts back, and had to cut a huge section of frame out to make room for the fuel pump on the 350, and then boxed it back up. Other frame mods we made was the front end/ core support mount, which we did, and then redid 2 more times to make sure it was right and lower it down another inch. I also cut and capped the framhorns (I also did that 3 times). This is the son, by the way again. Im learning a ton about fab, but I still suck at it. Trying to get better at welding.Click image for larger version.

The next thing I did was mount the cab. I was super scared for some reason to do it, and it took me forever to actually get it done. It was probably one of the harder things we did, but It came out really good and I was just happy that I didn't have to redo it. It was a huge step forward.Click image for larger version.
