i was underneith my 59 chevy apache yesterday and realized i need to replace some floor.. and some mounts.. and the rockers.. and the cab corners.. and the inner and outer hinge pockets.. etc.. its a little worse than previously thought.. i still dont have any real money into this truck outside of the motor and 4 speed i picked up for it though..
soo.. i was thinking i could just channel the body while im doing all of this, if i actually do all of it.. and since i need to replace alot of floor, its kinda easier..
what i need to know is, how much work is this seriously going to be.. i know im going to have to make floors, mounts, trans tunnel, new rails that will allow my bedsides to sit lower, and have a bunch of work in the front end to make the grill etc line up again..
do i need to remove the glass before i pick up the cab?
should i brace the cab before i pick it up?
how should i mount the cab when i lower it?
is this the stupidest thing youve ever heard of?
any and all info is greatly appreciated..
