So I'm building a frame for my project and I want to now if the rear universal and the trannies universal have to be on the same plain or can the trany be higher or lower? I want to know so i can figure out how much I'm going to z the front.
Thanks Dj

The do not have to be on the same plane BUT the planes must be parallel.
If you look at the tranny, shaft, and rear pinion shaft as a "Z" the shaft can be pretty much at any angle that your (universals can handle) but the top and bottom of the "Z" must be parallel.
Think of a lifted 4x4 except (probably) upside down.
