i have a 51 ford f2, dilemma is its an 8 lug front and rear, im coverting it into a gasser, and i was thinking about the smaller tires upfront and the wide tall rear. I already thought about converting the rear to a ford 9. but the fronts are still a problem. If i was to buy 8 to 5 adapter plates would that make the front tires stick out and look ridiculous? and whats an adapter like that run? anything else i could do?

why not just run some 8 lug 15 or 16" steelies up front, unless you wanna go smaller.
i think the adapters are about an 1" thick. but i think you're going to have trouble finding somewhere that has them. you might have to get them made. it would prolly be easier to adapt some s-10 spindles and hubs up front.

If you're building a Gasser you need to change all the running gear anyway. Do it once and do it right.

I had 2 trucks, one F1 and a F2, I think the spindles were the same so drums can be swapped or disc kit can be used... I know the brakes, lines and all were the same for sure..
